Hospital History
From the 1990s the customer–oriented/patient–centered approach along with an increase in the quality of health service became the policy of the health system of our country.
This new and modern approach; in which the patient, the personnel, and the medical staff as well as the client were considered the center of services, attracted so many managers and became the basis for customer–oriented culture in hospitals. But lack of sources, strict and tough rules, and the bureaucratic structure of state hospitals made it really hard to train the medical staff and administrate such an approach. In the meantime, some physicians and managers of Milad Hospital who had experienced such a system and firmly believed in administrating this system decided to found a hospital, a hospital in which a patient is considered as a member of their family and will receive kind, different, and compassionate services. They found a hospital based on the tenderness of society, colleagues, and patients and named it ‘Nikan’. The field of the hospital was bought in the year 2005 and the construction lasted till 2010.
We began our desired and ideal health service on Jun, 27th, 2011 when the first patient was hospitalized at Nikan. Also, in the first year of evaluation, Nikan got the first rank in Accreditation and Patient Safety and became the first private hospital in Iran to get the Green Award International certification at the Other Ways Institute international conference in Berlin in 2014. We continue our way on our pre-determined path to reach our ultimate goals.

Perimetry
The perimetry method recognizes and solves visual disturbances caused by problems in the retina, optic nerve, and intracranial optic nerves. This test is used to diagnose ocular or neurological problems, the most important of which is increased intraocular pressure, “blackhead or glaucoma”, and spastic lesions of the optic nerve or increased cerebrospinal fluid pressure and optic neuritis.
OCT
This device is a kind of wave scanner used to create a retina image on a computer screen. In this method, the image is taken from various layers of the eye and the optic nerve. This method entails no complications for the patient.
Eye ultrasound
A scan: Used for measuring the anterior-posterior length of the eye as well as measuring the power of the intraocular lens to operate on cataracts.
B scan: Used to diagnose retinal detachments and vitreous or the presence of an external intraocular agent and also for examining the orbit. This technique is mostly used to examine the posterior structure of the eye when examination is hindered due to corneal surface opacity.
IOL master
The IOL MASTER measures eye biometry to calculate the power of intraocular lenses for use in cataract surgery.
Orbscan and Penta
This device measures the corneal topography, which is the corneal structure, including superficial strength, thickness, and shape of the interior and the posterior part of the cornea. This technique is one of the techniques that can evaluate the posterior part of the cornea.
Corneal pachymetry
Corneal pachymetry is an ultrasonic device that measures the thickness of the cornea in the center and 8 pints using ultrasound waves. Pre-LASIK examination is one of the applications of corneal pachymetry. Corneal pachymetry helps estimate the maximal thickness of the excimer laser during LASIK operation.
Topography
Corneal topography is a mapping of the curvature of the cornea. Corneal topography is aimed at determining the precise form of the cornea’s shape and strength. This is done using computer imaging technology. The computer software identifies the data as dots in different colors, indicating different elevations of the cornea.
