About Ardabil
Ardabil is a famous tourist destination in Iran with attractive historical sites and breathtaking landscapes. Ardabil is a highland and enjoys a moderate and cool climate in spring and summer. Ardabil is located in the southwestern Caspian Sea, on the hillside of Sabalan Mountain. About the Climate of Ardabil
Ardabil is one of the coldest regions in Iran, with a humid continental climate and relatively dry summers and freezing wet winters. Many tourists choose this region for its cool climate during the hot summer months. Ardabil’s winters are long and bitterly cold.

Sheikh Safi Al-Din Ardabili's khanqah
Sheikh Safi al-Din Khānegāh and Shrine Ensemble is the tomb of Sheikh Safi-ad-din Ardabili located in Ardabil, Iran. Built between the beginning of the 16th century and the end of the 18th century, this place of spiritual retreat in the Sufi tradition uses Iranian traditional architectural forms to maximize the use of available space to accommodate a variety of functions (including a library, a mosque, a school, mausolea, a cistern, a hospital, kitchens, a bakery, and some offices). In 2010 the khanqah was registered on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Sabalan
Sabalan is a mountain located in the extreme northwest of Iran which is the country’s third-highest peak after Damavand and Alam-Kuh. On the slopes of the mountain, the mineral water from springs attracts large numbers of tourists each year, many of whom have faith in the healing properties attributed to the springs. Sabalan is known for its beautiful vistas, including the Shirvan Gorge, where few climbers ever venture.

Sheikh Jebra-il Shrine
The shrine dates back to the 14th century. The decorations of this monument were added in the Safavid era but some changes were made later on.
Pol-e Ebrahimabad
Dates back to the Safavid era, and it is one of the oldest bridges in Ardebil. This 36-meter-long bridge has 3 arches and is built over the Baliqu River.
Jameh Mosque of Ardabil (Masjed-e Jameh)
Jameh mosque of Ardabil is one of the oldest monuments in Ardabil. This mosque dates back to the Seljuq dynasty; although the original structure was destroyed when the Mongols attacked Iran in the 12th century. Now only some parts of the mosque remain.
Ardabil bazaar
Another one of the famous traditional bazaars of Iran, the ancient Ardabil Bazaar has traces of different eras in the history of Iran, such as the Seljuq, Qajar, Safavid, and Zand dynasties. During the 12th and 13th centuries, Ardabil Bazaar was one of the most important trade centers in Iran. Ardabil Bazaar was located on the Silk Road.
